Healthcare Environment and Facilities Programs (HEFP)

The VHA Office of Healthcare Environment and Facilities Programs (HEFP) provides effective and innovative leadership, guidance, oversight, professional development, and solutions that continually improves the health care environment. PROGRAMS (subprograms) include: CAPITAL ASSET MANAGEMENT (Activations, Capital Databases, Leases, Non-Recurring Maintenance, Minor Construction, Major Construction, Seismic); HEALTHCARE ENGINEERING (Energy, Vehicle Fleet, Engineering/Utility Systems, Boiler , Electrical, HVAC, Water); ENVIRONMENTAL PROGRAMS SERVICE (Environmental Sanitation, Environment of Care Rounding, Integrated Pest Management, Interior Design, Textile Care Management, Waste and Recycling); OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH (Construction Safety, Employee Occupational Health, Fire Protection, GEMS, General Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Injury and Illness Reporting, Safe Patient Handling and Mobility, Workers' Compensation); SPECIAL ENGINEERING PROJECTS (EHRM Facility Infrastructure); ENTERPRISE SUPPORT SERVICE (SDS/Chemical Inventory Service, Technical Career Field, Guidebook/Survey/Website Support); and ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES (Budget/HR/Logistics Support).
