About
Dr. Manuj Kapur is a staff ophthalmologist at the VISN 7 Clinical Resource Hub, where he also serves as the TECS Lead Ophthalmologist for the Central Alabama Veterans Healthcare System (CAVHCS). Additionally, he holds an appointment as Clinical Faculty at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. Dr. Kapur has led the expansion of mobile, face-to-face ophthalmology services and established access to subspecialty eye care across CAVHCS, including pioneering the VA's first Synchronous Tele-Glaucoma Clinic, which was selected for a national presentation at the Clinical Resource Hub strong practice symposium.
As an Entrepreneur in Residence Fellow, Dr. Kapur is now leading the development of a Synchronous Tele-Retina Clinic, with a goal to extend tele-subspecialty eye care services along with mobile deployment across VISN 7 spoke sites. His groundbreaking work leverages advanced telehealth technologies, seamlessly integrating asynchronous and synchronous care, to increase specialty care access while significantly reducing health care costs.
